If your car has previously been written-off by an insurer, you may still be able to insure it again, depending on the category. Insurers won’t accept a car that has been a category A or B write-off, due to the risk they pose on the road. However, in some cases, a category N or S (previously known as C and D) may be able to be insured again, as long as repairs have been carried out to make the vehicle road-worthy once more. Most insurers will ask to see a post-repair MOT certificate of the car to make sure it’s suitable to be driven before agreeing to insure it.
